Ethical AI Use in School Psychology: Risks, Responsibilities, and Practical Guardrails (16 Sep 2026)

Ethical AI Use in School Psychology: Risks, Responsibilities, and Practical Guardrails

Three-Hour Professional Development Workshop
September 16, 2026 | Virtual

Artificial intelligence is increasingly finding its way into educational and professional practice—but its use raises important questions for school psychologists.

What are the risks to confidentiality and privacy? How do we account for bias or inaccurate AI-generated content? Where should we draw the boundaries around AI-assisted professional work?

Join Dr. Adam Lockwood for a three-hour workshop examining the ethical, legal, and professional considerations involved in the use of artificial intelligence in school psychology.

Topics will include:

Confidentiality and privacy

Accuracy and unsupported AI-generated content

Bias and equity

Disclosure and consent

Documentation

Professional accountability

Appropriate boundaries for AI-assisted work

Through practical safeguards and case-based application, participants will consider how to make informed decisions about when, where, and how AI tools can be used responsibly in school psychology practice.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

Identify major ethical, legal, and professional considerations related to AI use in school psychology.

Describe common risks involving bias, privacy, overreliance, accuracy, and unsupported AI-generated content.

Apply practical safeguards and ethical decision-making principles to common uses of AI in school psychology practice.

Who Should Attend?

School psychologists, graduate students, supervisors, and other professionals interested in the responsible use of emerging AI technologies in educational settings.

Presented by the New Hampshire Association of School Psychologists (NHASP)

Register today and join us for a timely conversation about navigating AI while maintaining ethical and professional responsibility.
