NHASP Is offering Mini-Skills seminars; our first one will be Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 in Concord, from 5-8pm, and the second one is Monday, December 4th, 2017 in Plymouth from 5-8pm. This will be the same session repeated twice, so interested participants can pick the date and location that works best for you!

Workshop Description

NHASP is excited to have John Hite, Psy.D. NCPS, present two seminars on: Writing Psychoeducational Reports that Make Sense. 

Dr. Hite's focus will be on writing consumer-focused reports that are easy to read and present integrated, practical evaluation results. Dr. Hite's doctoral research focused on parent evaluations of consumer-focused versus traditional psychoeducational reports.

This mini-skills session will focus on practical review of research, how-tos for writing consumer-focused reports using case examples, and informal group conversation about report writing and school based practice. 

Learning Objectives

1) Participants will develop applied understanding of the research on best practices in writing psychological reports.

2) Participants will develop applied knowledge of ethical standards in relation to NH regulations on psychological reports to be sent home. 

3) Participants will develop applied skills to write consumer-focused reports using case examples.


About the Presenter   

John has provided services in Maine public schools, early childhood and medical center settings. He is a Massachusetts Licensed Educational Psychologist and Maine Certified School Psychologist Specialist. John is a recent graduate of William James College. His research focus was on parent evaluations of traditional and consumer-focused school psychological reports. John is also the chair of the National and State Credentialing Committee for NASP.


Continuing Education Credits

NHASP is a NASP-approved provider of CPD hours and Certificates of Attendance will be accepted toward NCSP. A total of 3 CE credits will be awarded for this event. These CE credits can be used for NCPS credit for ethics and professional practice requirement. 


Registration Information

Registration is now open for NHASP members. On October 15th, we will open registration to all. Each mini-skills seminar has a limit of 40 people.   

Conference Fee includes a light dinner (pizza) and handouts. Please list any dietary restrictions or other special needs. Please be sure to enter your email address as well.

All registrations must be prepaid. Payment receipt will be sent to address provided upon request. Purchase orders will not be accepted for this event. In case of inclement weather, notification of postponement will be made by email as soon as possible. 

For the November 7th event, cancellations received prior to October 31, 2017 will be refunded less a 5% administrative fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received after 5pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. 

For the December 4th event, cancellations received prior to November 27th, 2017 will be refunded less a 5% administrative fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received after 5pm on Tuesday, November 27th, 2017.
